OVERVIEW
What do we already know?
There are repeated nav tabs
Important information is placed at the bottom of an endless scrolling website
Is it a new feature or is this an existing feature we want to improve?
An existing feature we want to improve
What still needs to be discovered?
A way to reduce confusion or frustration when navigating through SelectTV
We want to uncover users' mental models for better information architecture
We need navigation labels that give users a strong indication of what will happen before they click the link.
Discovery & Research
Unmoderated Open Card Sorting
To get a better outcome, the card-sorting has to make users work harder and really think about how they would categorize the concepts written on the cards. We want to avoid using terminology that’ll lead them to an answer we want, it has to come to the user naturally!
62 testers
We received 24% more respondents than we expected which helped our insights be more meaningful
WHat i learned
Short and straight to the point
The main navigation was reduced to 5 groups that’ll better suit our users' expectations! Clear and concise categories allow users to rapidly and easily access SelectTV’s content.
Increases visit duration
Upon implementation, these newly named nav tabs will foster a streamlined experience. An easily navigable product increases the time a user remains on it. This allows users more time to explore SelectTV!
